This Privacy Policy explains what data Nightstop ("we", "us") collects, why, and how it is handled. Nightstop is built for airline crew, and we try to collect the minimum data necessary to make that work.
1. What we collect
Account data: your name, work email address, airline, role, and home base, used to verify you are airline crew and to display your profile to other crew. Profile data: optional bio, photo, languages, and activity preferences. Layover data: cities and dates you add as upcoming nightstops. Messages: chat messages you send to other users. Payment data: handled directly by Stripe - we never see or store your card details. Usage data: basic technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser) for security and abuse prevention.
2. What we never collect
We do not access your device's GPS location at any point. You enter your layover city manually. We do not read the content of your private messages for any purpose other than automated abuse detection (e.g. spam patterns); human admin access to message content is not part of the admin dashboard.
3. How we use your data
To operate the Service (showing you relevant crew on matching layovers), to send transactional emails (e.g. signup verification, password reset, subscription receipts) via our email provider Resend, to process payments via Stripe, and to maintain safety (reviewing reports, suspending accounts that violate our Terms).
4. Data retention
Layovers are deleted 3 days after the departure date. Direct messages are deleted after 7 days. Hangout group chats are deleted 3 days after the event. If you delete your account, your profile, layovers, and messages are permanently removed.
5. Who we share data with
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to operate the Service: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Resend (transactional email), Stripe (payment processing), and Railway (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own data protection terms. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
6. Your rights
You can view and edit most of your data directly in your profile settings, including which fields are visible to other crew. You can delete your account at any time, which permanently removes your data. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or export your data - contact us to exercise them.
